DC Family Education Expo

MCS' 3rd Annual DC Family Education Expo will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 9-4pm.  The DC Family Education Expo is a city wide event sponsored by several city organizations and government agencies bringing valuable education resources to DC parents and families to help support their children's learning and academic success in school.

Presentations on early childhood education, drop out prevention, special education services, finding the right college for your child, learning readiness, career readiness, and financial aid will be ongoing throughout the day.  Over 50 organizations will participate in the exhibition hallway.

This year's theme for the DC Family Education Expo is Healthy Bodies/Healthy Minds in support of city wide efforts to fight against DC's high adoloscent obesity rates which make DC a city with one of the highest rates in the country. This year's event will feature a farmer's market with healthy food tastings and fun fitness demonstrations to get families moving.
