MCS works to encourage, promote and facilitate civic participation by providing comprehensive parental engagement services in some of Washington, DC's most underserved neighborhoods.
Through its operation of the DC Parent Information Resource Center (DC PIRC), MCS helps implement successful and effective parental involvement policies, programs, and activities that lead to improvements in student academic achievement and strengthen partnerships among parents, teachers, principals, administrators and other school personnel in meeting the education needs of children.
MCS has provided services in more than 40 public schools and public charter schools, working with school leaders to identify and implement the best programs and practices for each school community to support greater parental involvement.
