Heruy Gebremariam
Language Services Consultant

Heruy Gebremariam has a diverse background in both academia and humanitarian work. He brings a wealth of expertise to his role at MCS. His responsibilities include maintaining accounting and workflow systems, conducting Salesforce data analyses, leading research policy and strategy initiatives, managing the MCS SharePoint archiving system, fostering partnerships with clients and community change leaders, and overseeing the development of tailored glossaries for multiple sectors in collaboration with heritage linguists.

Heruy attended the Mechanical Engineering Program at Jimma University in Jimma, Ethiopia, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Addis Ababa University and an MA from Mekelle University in the Tigray Region of Northern Ethiopia. Heruy is a certified medical interpreter of Amharic and Tigrigna with experience translating in both academic and humanitarian settings.

Heruy’s humanitarian service includes his previous positions with the University of Mekelle and Adigrat University in Adigrat, Tigray Region, Ethiopia. In recent years, he transitioned to serve international non-government organizations in Ethiopia and Kenya, including Act for Peace (Australia), The Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (France), and Helvetas – a Swiss association for international cooperation (Switzerland). He has served as a translator, field officer, data analyst, interpreter project manager, and community facilitator in these roles. He is fluent in English, Amharic, and Tigrinya, with conversational proficiency in Afaan Oromo.

 

 

Esteffany Villasenor
Language Services Program Coordinator

Esteffany Villasenor is the MCS Coordinator for the Language Service Program (LSP) and the Head of Media Marketing. She oversees all new LSP external outreach to maintain responsive cooperative relations with prospective and existing clients and vendors. She is the frontline point of contact for MCS with the public.

Esteffany has served as an interpreter and translator in various roles and capacities in higher education and other job experiences. She has extensive experience with high school and undergraduate youth. This includes those who are limited English speakers of Spanish origin. She has assisted schools and students with engagement and conduct litigations, youth library science, and student financial aid counseling. Esteffany also has diverse experience in the film production industry.

She received a BA in Film and Media Production and a BA in Global Studies from the University of California at Riverside, USA.
